    Showers and linen clean.

Very basic B&B, not really what was expected. The tea and coffee provided in the room was scarce. No mirrors in the rooms. Not really a place to have your breakfast and no attempt was made by the manager to offer breakfast.

    Very good

The price was good, the staff I saw briefly were pleasant and the room was as expected.

This is pretty self service – you are given a keycode to get in, and leave the money when you leave. You might stay here and never see any staff. There was a mix up with giving me self service instructions and the staff were there waiting for me to arrive to ensure I got into the hotel. Although it is “self service” the staff do try to make sure you can access your room.

    Good

Decent location for a very short stay, helpful staff, good communication and clean room.

Very busy main road into Cambridge, downstairs could've been cleaner and better finished (e.g dirty curtains and no carpets on the stairs)

    Superb

    Very clean and comfortable.

Very impersonal place, no one around to ask questions of. All communication with the staff is via text message or a notepad in the room.

    Fabulous

It was a simple arrangement, with self checking in, but it was perfect for a business traveller who just wanted to be in and out.

    Fabulous

Straight after I booked a room online, the owner started contacting me. He seems so kind and looks after every single customer, and that made me surprised since I have never seen any owner as kind as he is. There was few notes on the table which we can get all of the information about the way going to city centre, bus time table, payment, rule in this hotel(keep quiet for other customers), and so on. I could see his kindness from there as well. There is a shopping moll(?) just in front of the hotel, bed is comfortable, shower is enough hot. I would like to stay here again if I have any chance :)))

Nothing. But I can say that the TV is small, the shower room is a bit small. However it's nothing with his big kindness :)

    Good

Location was convenient for visiting our family.

We unfortunately had a room at the front of the hotel. It is very close to the main road which is busy at all times. We found we had a disturbed nights sleep because the traffic was very noisy. I would stay at the hotel again but would request a room at the back of the hotel.

    Exceptional

Fabulous new rooms finished to a high standard, not what I was expecting at this price range far superior to most budget places in Cambridge. Friendly staff, the manager was hilarious and was only interested in making sure you wanted for nothing, comfy bed, good wifi, good shower, all super clean. As much fruit muffins juice fancy coffee as you wanted. Free private parking, easy to get to the center, i could go on. I don’t understand some of the issues with reviews here I can only guess they have issues.

    Superb

Very nice room, newly refurbished, quality fittings, lovely wood work.We never saw the owners as we used their self check in service and left our money in the room in the morning and left.

    Good

The rooms are very clean and the bed was comfy.

There is no sign outside the hotel which makes it difficult to find. The set up is a bit odd, it is not easy to get in contact with the owner/manager. We had a problem in one of the rooms with the shower, the owner was very appologetic quickly offered money off the room.

    Good

The room was very clean and comfortable, definitely well above the standard that you would expect in this price range.

We had tried to cancel 5 mins after booking as we'd read a review that it was on a highway and had wanted to stay in town. We were told that we would be charged if we cancelled and so went ahead with the booking. The owner kept bringing it up again and it made us feel very uncomfortable. Incidentally, whilst its not on a highway per-se, it is on a multi-lane main road, opposite a retail park, and not in town. That said, it is a 5 minute taxi which is not expensive, or a 20 minute walk along the river in to town.

    Good

Very clean room and bathroom. Excellent location on a main route into city centre but was at the same time quiet at night.

£85 with no breakfast is a lot for just a room in a guesthouse. When we arrived our greeting was very perfunctory- we were literally taken to the door and told there was no breakfast, then told to either pay now or leave cash in the drawer the next morning. There was absolutely no warmth in the welcome or interest is us as guests....which left the experience rather cold : (

    Exceptional

Very good value! The rooms have been modernised, while still maintaining old world charm. It feels clean with new Pergo "wood" floors and tile bathroom floors/walls (not "soiled" carpets). The large double rooms are quite spacious (stayed here) , and the single rooms are still adequately roomy. Shampoo, hair dryers, iron/board, tea/coffee, creamer, sugar, orange juice provided. No breakfast, but there is a table in dining room downstairs. You can get groceries at the asda / Beehive Shopping Centre (two bus stops away, or at the train station on your way in (m&s gourmet items). The bus stop is across the street, or you can use CamCab or Panther Taxi services. Based on past bookings, far superior to competitors in the same price range.

The room was not warm enough initially, but management turned the heat up after asking if it was adequate. To be fair, it was a record cold winter.
